What is #TeacherTweets?

#teachertweets is a Transdisciplinary quantitative and qualitative study that examines the networks that US-based teachers form on Twitter, the conversations they are having there, and the content of individual tweets.

This project includes methods from computer science, information science, and philosophy of education to explore teachers' engagement on Twitter.

Our research questions include:

  • What issues and ideas are teachers discussing on Twitter?
  • How do teachers use Twitter as a mode of professional learning?
  • How are teachers making moral claims on Twitter? What is the content of these claims?
  • What do teachers’ tweeting practices reveal about their beliefs about what constitutes good work?
